Yeah, I'd give that a shot - odd that it didn't just work though; I just
went from 2.6.1 to 2.6.2 on my K8 without any problems. (Still building a
32-bit kernel for K7, so it's a similar case.)

Hrm, odd. Wouldn't think any of that would hurt anything.
