I have found that http://www.linux-laptop.net/ has a nice list of how to load linux on different laptops. http://www.linux.org/hardware/laptop.html may also have some information for you. I'm sure you found those using google, but thought I would list them anyway. I found them usefull when loading linux on my Dell Inspiron 8000. I remember hearing about some emachine laptop that was inexpensive <$900 and ran linux without much difficulty. Hope you find yourself a killer laptop. I have been wanting to get a Alienware laptop for quite some time now. I think it would make a killer gaming system / Linux powerhorse. -----Original Message----- From: tclug-list-bounces at mn-linux.org [mailto:tclug-list-bounces at mn-linux.org] On Behalf Of Patrick McCabe Sent: Monday, December 13, 2004 11:55 AM To: tclug-list at mn-linux.org Subject: [TCLUG] Laptop advice I am going to be buying a laptop computer soon. I assume it will come with XP and I will want to convert it to dual-boot Linux. Will there be any problems doing this? I have built dual-boot sytems before but not with XP. Also if anyone really loves (or hates) their laptop I am happy to hear recommendations.
