I think that you may need an alias line in /etc/modutils/aliases.
I don't use ndiswrappers, but I think that you need a line like:
  alias wlan0 net8180 

I believe wlan0 is just a "standard" name to simplify things due
to the fact that there are dozens of different wireless drivers - 
just like eth0.
