Hi, I have a dual processor itanium-2 machine running RH linux. The kernel version is 2.4.18-e.25-perfmon #1 SMP. When I run a command like this ./program | gzip -f > program.gz both "program" and "gzip" run on the same processor. Since both are CPU intensive, each take 50% of the processor time. The other processor is idle. Is there a way to make "program" run on one processor and "gzip" on the other? If you want any specific information please let me know. Thanks for the help in advance.
