(just like on todays computers you can have a USB keyboard apear as a PS2 keyboard) my recommendation: set the Trackpad to use PS2, make sure all the serial ports are enabled in the bios. in debian, install gpm and configure to use /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/ttyS1 basically: gpm -t <mousetype> -m /dev/ttyS0 do a gpm -t help for available mouse types, choose one that sounds somewhat close. i have yet to find something with an exact match.
