In some cases, such as a 2tb+ root filesystem, grub apparently doesn't
work yet. Of course, grub is a nicer default that lilo.

'apt-get install grub' installs it; /sbin/upgrade-grub will create a 
menu.lst for you, with all your kernels listed.
