I'm considering subscribing to Verizon's 1xRTT Express Network service.
This thing is supposed to provide up to 144kbps anywhere I can get
coverage within the TC, using a 1x-capable phone or a special PCMCIA
card.

Does anybody on the list have any experiences they'd be willing to share
about this service in the Twin Cities? Does it perform as advertised?
How reliable is it?

Here's the Linux interest: Any caveats regarding setting this thing up
with a Linux laptop? I've got the phone and am inclined to go with the
$30 cable if that will work.

TIA
