Well, I can't really see exactly how the connectors look, but if you have
fiber running, shouldn't you be able to just use an optical gigabit
ethernet card at either end?  I would think that would be better
than using a converter.  Someone had one of those for sale on the list
not too long ago. (and I believe I have exactly the same one, too)
