Hello all,

I have a red hat 9 box here at home. I am somewhat new to Linux. I
rebooted this morning and I got this message:

<msg>

awk: cmd. line:2: fatal: Cannot open file '/proc/mounts/'for reading (No
such file or directory)
Couldn't open /proc/partitions: No such file or directory.
Is /proc mounted?

*** An error occurred during the file system check
*** Dropping you into a shell

</msg>

Then I can log in as root and see all my directories. I just don't know
where to start repairing the system.

Any ideas/experience with this?

TOm
