And the comments are part of a discussion. Is it fair to the other
participants in the discussion to remove part of the discussion? No. It's
possible that the comments in question are quoted in replies to the
message, and thus, you'd have to edit the replies, or remove the entire
thread from the archive.

And if you do it once, I'm sure you'll have to do it again. And again...do
you really want to open that can of worms?
