I've never had to do a whole box, but when I change a lot of hardware, I
just turn on kudzu -- chkconfig kudzu on -- and shutdown, change the
hardware and babysit the reboot as it eliminates the old stuff and adds
all the new stuff.  I have never had a problem doing it that way, but
your mileage may vary.
