Hola.

Eclipse (free, open source: www.eclipse.org) recently added printer support
to its Linux builds, but I suspect that we may have made a mistake in our
choice of implementations. As I understand things (I'm not on the team that
implemented this feature), it was coded up to use the XPrint (xprt) server.
I'd never heard of this server before, and the folks who implemented this
feature are not Linux-gurus.

So my question is, is Xprt a commonly used print server? Does it make sense
to assume that people are running it? Also, are there more sensible choices
to be made (lpr, cups, etc.)?

Thanks,
- Jared
