Yup.  And that's by design -- Microsoft doesn't want to make it easy for 
people to use "viral" tools to manipulate "its" data.  There's many 
good reasons why they should move it to XML -- but that would make life 
easier for people trying to get interoperability, and Microsoft isn't 
big on interoperability.
