Depending on when the versions of the (Microsoft) OS were released it may be 
an encryption problem.  MS decided a while ago that enctryption is a 
GoodThing (tm) and made it standard.  However, I know some versions do the 
encryption, and some dont. So I would just make sure they all do the same 
thing.
