Near as I can guess is it was a combination of the following.

1.) story ran at 5:08 on friday night
2.) most people didn't care enough to look
3.) static html
4.) new server box with more horsepower
5.) good net connection
6.) superior operating system
7.) incredibly handsome sysadmin
