I've used AC3D, it's been around since at least 1995.  You can find a whole
bunch here:

Not all are for linux, but many are.  Check out Giram too.

Have you tried out progeny yet?  www.progeny.com,
ftp.cs.umn.edu/pub/progeny has iso's.
