I'm running Mandrake 7.1 on my laptop right now. I'm getting ready to
drop it for Slackware which I ran long ago. Mandrake works nice for
newbies but I find I run into errors trying to compile anything.. It's
been ok, but if you actually try to do anything it just spits at you.

I like slackware for workstations and debian for my servers. I'm a
debian converted freak thanks to Ben. But I say give it a shot and see
if you like it.
