But we can't make the current source base a part of the GNU software
library because of the GPL issue.  What has happened so far is a great
start, but we need to eventually get the attention of the OSS/Linux
developer community, which practically means that we need to be under
the umbrella of GPL.  A number of software projects that are under more
restrictive licensing (e.g. Berkeley) have had difficulties because of
that fact.
