I would keep all the files in a /usr/games/netrek directory, but add
symbolic links to frequently used components ... like gum and the client
"netrek". Just these two should be sufficient.
We should package COW at the same time, perhaps in the same kit.
/etc/rc.d/init.d/netrek needs to be created to start newstartd.
Let the user then choose whether it starts on boot, using "setup" or the
Red Hat linuxconf.
I would advise against PATH modification.
COW should also be able to look for a system-wide .xtrekrc file.
