Yeah, I agree, it is unstable, and hard to compile, but that's more because
the code is constantly in flux.  At any given snapshot, at least something
is in transition.  A code freeze of a week or so would probably result in a
rock solid release, but I don't see that happening.

Incidentally, I've heard that a GNOME 1.0 release may be possible first
quarter 1999.  Maybe.
