Re: [TCLUG:1781] DNS server timing out



No luck.  See below:

[root@spot run]# cat named.pid
3269
[root@spot run]# kill -9 3269
kill: (3269) - No such pid

In messages file, notice the same PID mentioned:

Oct 16 10:38:30 spot named[3269]: starting.  named 4.9.6-REL Thu Nov 
6 23:29:57 EST 1997
^Iroot@porky.redhat.com:/usr/src/bs/BUILD/bind-4.9.6/named
Oct 16 10:38:45 spot named[3269]: There may be a name server already
running
Oct 16 10:38:45 spot named[3269]: exiting

This is a strange one.
