3c509 module fails to load

After months of running fine, I need to power-down my box to install a
new SCSI tape drive. Installation went fine and Linux automatically
loaded the st.o module. But as it came to the NIC card initialization
I am getting the following error:


eth0: 3c509 at 0x300 tag <deleted>
SIOCSIFLAGS: Resource temporarily unavailable

Any ideas?
