RE: [TCLUG:858] Monitors
Totally true, their low end could be improved. Of their current stuff,
only their "top of the line" EX series is worth it. But considering you
can get an EX700 (17"; .28 dp; PC, Mac, and BNC connectors; certified Sun
compatible; 1600 x 1200 @ 68 Hz or 1280 x 1024 @ 80 Hz max) for under
$350 (+ tax/shipping) or an EX900 (21" all other stats identical) for
under $900, they are a nice low-end/midrange monitor. Certainly not in
the same class as Sony, Nokia, or Eizo/Nanao but they don't cost nearly
as much either.

Well, perhaps the high-end CTX monitors are good, as you say. Here at
work
I've got a low-end CTX, 17", and it sucks uncontrollably. At 1024x768 I
get 60Hz refresh, which is simply unusable. The picture is real fuzzy and
text is nearly unreadable, even at 800x600. And the colors are skewed,
too.
I guess my advice would be to get some non-CTX brand if you're shooting
for the low end.
