What about a rpm --install --force? If that doesn't fire it in, what will?
If that doesn't work, try this address:
http://www.troll.no/dl/qt-1.33.tar.html where you can get the package
ALREADY in tar.gz format! A lib like qt is going to have a tar of it
because it is so mainstream.
