4.2 -> 5.0 upgrade

After successfully upgrade 6 machines from 4.2 to 5.0, I got one
machine that is not working.

After the upgrade I get the following when I try to login.

/bin/login can't resolve symbol __xstat

I found that login need pam, curses and glibc, so I booted rescue, 
rpm -e --justdb pam, ncurses, and glibc so they would get
re-installed.

Still, I get the unresolved symbol. Anyone know where lib __xstat is
from?
