compiles a C program but won't run it

Thanks for the help last week with the -lm switch worked like a charm. 
My new problem is that the program compiles but won't run.  I am running
RH 5.0 and installed eveerything from the CD.  My first command to
compile is
cc greedy.c -o greedy -lm
btw this is in the /home dir
then I type
greedy <data> outfile
and linux returns bash:command not found.

Ideas, advice, etc.
