when referring to quality of power I think you need to remember that
ripple output is what 
is commonly meant.  For any critical apps  you want the ripple to be very
low preferrably
pure DC.  This can be checked with an o-scope.  If you stay away from the
cheapies you
will probably be ok.  also remember these PS are now switching,  (no
transformers) so
you really can't repair them without special equip.      Jerry   ET USPS
