Not a Linux issue, but what about potential power supply problems. It's
my understanding that Athlons are more fussy about power supplies and RAM
than the Pentiums. I would make sure that the power supply would be adequate
before I put in a new motherboard/Athlon combo. That said, I'd take an
Athlon over a Pentium III any day.
