Re: [TCLUG:21925] New mainboard recommendations

I just ordered an MSI 694D Pro. (Didnt want to wait for the ABIT VP6) Since I
havent installed it yet I cant make a recommendation based on personal experiance
but only the specs and Tomshardware review.
http://tw.msi.com.tw/showroom/mainboard/eng/694dpro.htm
http://www.tomshardware.com/mainboard/00q3/000911/index.html

It has some pretty impressive specs.
Dual Processors
up to 2gb ram
4 ATA/66 drives 4 ATA/100 drives
no ISA
5 PCI/1AGP/1CNR
4 USB!
2 Firewire!
Onboard sound that can be disabled

if you get the -AR version the ATA/100 is also a RAID controller. (no linux
support for this promise raid controller yet!)
This board has alot of stuff going for it. Toms hardware did a review of it and
it faired pretty well.
I ordered this and a PIII 850 I hope to clock atleast to a Gig. Then I can just
add another PIII850 later on.
