I know the ping problem exists on at least some cable modems.  My
family's cable modem runs in the 200ms range as well.  However, I
suspect that has something to do with the fact that @Home limits upload
rates to 112kbps.  I intend to contact them about this problem at some
point, but I don't know when I'll really get around to it.
