But does it scare your boss as much?

Grab O'reilly's "sendmail", a.k.a. the Bat Book and start reading.  Get
a machine you can install sendmail on and play with.  Hack some
rulesets, use sendmail -bt extensively to play with it and see what you
can get it to do.

A well-trained Sendmail Jedi(tm) should be able to make a Wav -> MP3
encoder out of some rewriting rules.
