I apologize that we have now exceeded my knowledge of AppleTalk and
related stuff. :) My experience is from letting my Dad get at my box. I
always wanted to be able to go the other way... I also never got printing
working, nor have I dealt with anything more than a (sort-of) peer-to-peer
situation with netatalk.

That said, I have a book that intricately describes AppleTalk and the
protocol that I might be able to bring to the next meeting (if I can get
my parents to ship it back from Philly soon enough), if you're
interested. It might help give some good insight into your problem.
