Erick,
In my RH 6.1 system, the PCMCIA card does *not* show up under eth0 -- this is
the way the PCMCIA module is designed. In fact, you can pretty much ignore
RedHat's netconf utility, once you have your basic host information entered. The
PCMCIA module should auto-detect your card (when you hear the beeps) and
automatically load the proper driver. However, you probably need to go into
/etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia and tweak a couple of RedHat's default settings. See
section 2.5.2 of the PCMCIA-howto. Also, I would recommend you get the latest
source for the PCMCIA module, and compile and install it right over the old one
-- in fact, I had no choice in order to get my own card working (3Com
CardBus-type 10/100 NIC). Technically, PCMCIA is a separate loadable module from
the kernel itself -- but yes, the PCMCIA module is included with RH.
