Yeah, I have to agree.  The IntelliMouse Explorer has been indispensible
for me.  I have very limited desk space, and room space.  My chair is my
bed's mattress.  It's much easier for me just to use the mouse on my bedspread
(with perfect precision) than it is to reach over (stretching, and 
uncomfortable) to
my desk to diddle with the mouse, even if it was a cordless one.  The 
IntelliMouse
Explorer has a really long cable, too - I have:

Computer (in closet) <--USB extension-->USB Hub<-->Microsoft Mouse<-->Me

I can get really far away from my computer with this mouse, like reclining in 
my
bed watching a DVD movie (changing controls with the mouse... on my mattress), 
while messing around on the other monitor that has an ssh connection open.
