I had to use USB on 2.2.13, because I have ext3, and I didn't find that
for any other version... 

THere is USB support in 2.2, but apparently it sucks. However, there is a
backport of the 2.3 USB development back to 2.2, which works fine. There's
a patch against 2.2.14, but I applied it to 2.2.13 with no problems.
