Darn.  He draws the line at old "mainframes."  Our fun used to be going to
Sandia Nat'l Labs salvage yards and finding old pdp-11 boxes for $5 to
mount in the 6 foot equipment racks.  Of course we couldn't do much with
them, but the neat thing about the pdp-11 was that even if you didn't have
anything else to hook up to it, you could program the registers with the
toggle switches on the front and watch the LEDs.  I'd tell you how long
ago that was, but I'd date myself...
