Jon,

#1 looks like a spurious error message, but check it out after you are
done (this does seem critical _yet_, but modules can be _very_
important, especially in a distibution). For #2, I would try to choose
your video card, but choose another monitor (something that does
640x480@8 bit color (VGA)) and try to configure that after the install
completes. If that doesn't work, try choosing a lame VGA card and see if
that works. Be careful now, but your video card and monitor support
basic VGA color and resolution plus _alot_ more (and better)
color/resolution combinations, so you _should_ be safe. I hope this
