Wouldn't BRU be the way to go, I remember reading a reivew in LJ saying that
they had backed up a system to tape and made a boot floppy.  Then they
removed the HD and replaced it with the same model, detected the new drive
in the BIOS and rebooted with the floppy (and the tape drive attatched of
course)  and it restored perfectly.  making partitions, formatting and the
like.  Sounds like a great way to replicate a stock "image" of a system
