Re: [TCLUG:14426] non-standard X resolutions

ok, I looked at the back, and it's a PT810-2M. my testing would seem
to confime this, as it will go up to a hsync rate of 96.
got it going at 1440x1080 @ 81.43 Hz now; and it's a joy to work with. :)
big desktops are truly things of beauty to work on. and the 81Hz refresh
rate is nice and easy on the eyes. (don't you wish you could convince
Winblows to do something like that?? I think it may be possible; but it'll
take some effort. at this point, I'm failing to care.)
I myself start seeing flicker at around 77Hz; but 81Hz is definitely nice on
the eyes; so I stuck with the 1440x1080 desktop. (and I admit, partly
because they're nice round numbers).
1536x1152 will go to 70Hz refresh; which is a bit hard on the eyes.
1600x1200 got up to 65 Hz, a nice improvement over 60Hz; but still painful
to look at.
you wouldn't think of it; but Mahjongg is easier to play when it's smaller
on the screen, because you can get more of the tiles within your casual gaze. :)
Yaron, could you do me a favor and recalculate those modes, with 96kHz max
Hsync and 120Hz max Vsync? I want to see if it makes any difference.
