non-standard X resolutions
anyone have experience with non-standard X resolutions? my video
card will drive my ViewSonic PT810 monitor to 85Hz @ 1280x1024; but only
60Hz @ 1600x1200. the limitation is that the dotclock on the video board
(Matrox Mystique 4MB; a couple years old) will only go up to 170Mhz.
I need to find a resolution that's somewhere between 1280x1024, and
1600x1200; that I can run at ~75Hz, using a maximum dotclock of 170.
someone at the TCLUG meeting saturday, mentioned running 1400x1050,
at the meeting; but I never got to talk to them.
where can I find modelines for this sort of thing? one would thing
xfree86.org would help; but it's rather unhelpful. :(
I found the web-based video calculator at
http://www.hut.fi/Misc/Electronics/faq/vga2rgb/calc.html
but it doesn't calculate the stuff I need.
