RE: [TCLUG:14291] PCMCIA network card on a laptop
Jeff,
I have a Toshiba Tecra 8000, with the XJack version of your nic. Redhat
(6.0 and 6.1) didn't work with the card, and it would eventually timeout
upon boot. I ended up getting the latest PCMCIA stuff, installing it to
/usr/src, compiling, and installing. It worked great after that. I now use
it to control my nic as well as a v.90 modem.
You will of course have to configure /etc/pcmcia/net* for your network, and
perhaps even /etc/pcmcia/config.opts for IRQ's, etc, but it should work with
the latest code.
