Yanking messages from mbox file

I am wishing to yank all the messages from a particular user from a very large
mbox-style file.

I was thinking of using formail, but I cannot seem to get it to work.

I have a 14Mb mbox file and I want to pull all of "users" email from the mbox
file, any other way of doing this?
