Re: [TCLUG:18811] Debian PCMCIA net install
In response to my question about installing Debian on a laptop:

OK, my head is bruised from banging it on my desk. Here's what I've done:
1. boot rescue and load root floppies
2. partition, format, mount partitions, etc.
Now, if I try to "Configure PCMCIA Support" I get an error and loading the
modules fails. So I decided to "Configure Device Driver Modules," but when I
do, what looks like an error screen pops up for approx. 12 ns and I'm back
to the installation main menu. Needless to say, I didn't have time to read
the error message.
I wondered if it was complaining about not finding drivers. (I've never
figured out when I should use the Driver-1.bin disk.) So I tried mounting
Driver-1 manually, but I couldn't get that to work either.
I know for a fact that this PCMCIA NIC uses the standard TI chipset. It
*should* work.
Any other hints?
