Redhat 5.2, linuxconf and firewall module

Anyone else find that the stock Redhat 5.2 linuxconf firewall modules
does not work right?

When I activate the firewall by hand it all works fine. But when I do
it through linuxconf it does not work.

Weird part is that the ipfwadm -l -F shows the SAME information for
both configuration methods (hand entered or linuxconf entered).

Bug? Anyone else?
