um. was it w2k or the new bios.
Something of the above fragged my /usr partition. :(
Even tried other superblocks and the sort. Had a good portion of it just
in lost+found. I was screwed.
Words to the wise:
Dont use a possibly corrupted e2fs lib or fsck by mistake.
Dont upgrade your bios like its a daily fun activity.
Do have debian rescue disks handy
Do keep the debian base files on another partition thats not used much
(!!! THIS KICKED ASS! I had it on my hd still!)
Do have a high speed link to the internet. :)
Dont try to run a system on a horribly corrupted /usr
Looks like it was probally the newest bp6 bios. downgraded and
reinstalling debian. oh well. ftp.cs.wisc.edu is a fast mirror from
here. If only onvoy got more bandwidth.
So, lessons learned: stop fooling with w2k. and (!) dont upgrade that
bios until you know of others who have.
Luckly /scratch and /home made it ok. (!)
Oh. well. its like 5am. Nighty night!
