Re: 2.2.12 (fwd)



I'm still having trouble getting everything to work with the new 2.2.12
kernel.

- Symptom: During the startup of rc scripts, Starting NFS daemon reports
"nfssvc: Function not implemented"

Tim was kind enough to inform me that this means I don't have KNFSD
enabled when I build the kernel.

xconfig does not allow me to enable kernel NFS server. The controls for
that option are disabled.

Does anyone know why this is? Better yet, how do I fix it?

That's odd. I don't know why that option wouldn't be available to you. My
only thought is that it goes back to your initial system setup. I'm not
sure how, though. You might try posting another message to the list now
that we've got some more info.
