The best I can think of is that your HD somehow has 4 kilobyte blocks
where it expects 1 kilobyte blocks.  My best recommendation would be to
just run fsck, but you may want to re-do that partition.  Back it up
somehow, reformat it, and then replace the data..

If you'd like to take a look at the source for the (Linux 2.2.0)
function producing the error, you can try looking here:

(which presumably translates to
/usr/src/linux/drivers/block/ll_rw_blk.c)

That should be the partition /dev/hda3
