I use a P5/133 w/ linux 2.2.0pre2; gtk+ and glib 1.0.6; 32MB RAM; Client, server on
same box; gcfclient v0.95.1 (with a few patches not relevant to this issue). Works
fine here.

Hmm... Does upgrading to the 95.1 gcfclient help any?
