I'm infavor of this approach.  It might help some of the other play-balance
problems brought up last month in the list.

What about amulet of Magic Resistance?  I've found that a few times.. without
leaving skorn.

Sounds complicated for the purposes of the game.  Monsters tend to be of three
states.. attack, flee or ignore.
