Re: CF: Re: "playtested" (was: Re: Java...)



A possible new feature to add interest and difficulty to the game would
be to have an artifacts in use database which maintains a count of how
many of each artifact is owned by a living character.  If that count
is greater than some number controlled by the DM then CF will not allow
any more of that particular artifact to be made.  Thus, limiting the
number of great artifacts.  This would severely change playing on a
server since then many artifacts cannot be acquired since others already
own them.

Presumably, it could come with options to automatically slowly increase
the count so later players still could find the best artifacts if that
was desired.  Or a server could have a situation where if a player wants
cloak of magic immunity then the player must get it from the player that
has it.

Such a feature could both add realism and improve playbalance.
